About Purgeraj
The Purgeraj Club was founded in Spring 2003 by three enthusiasts for good and quality music. Our primary idea was to set up a club that would regularly host Croatian and foreign live bands, which was rare in Zagreb at the time. We wanted to create a leisurely atmosphere in which everyone would feel welcome. Since its opening, we can proudly say that the Purgeraj Club has grown into an important feature of Zagreb's cultural scene, and the fact that some of the most important Croatian musicians, as well as a large number of foreign musicians, played in the club proves we are moving in the right direction.

Location
We are situated in Park Ribnjak, in the centre of Zagreb. Ribnjak Park lies less than five minutes walk from the main Zagreb square, Trg bana Jelačića, and the Purgeraj Club is in a secluded place in this park. Ribnjak Park is one of the oldest in Zagreb (dating from 1830) and the most beautiful one, affording a fine view of Zagreb Cathedral, a symbol of our town. The lovely landscaped park is a favourite promenade for Zagrebians, and its size and diversity of plants are delightful all the year round. Purgeraj is located in the very centre of the park in the building that belongs to the Ribnjak Youth Centre, and all the paths in the park lead to it. Click here to see the map.
Music
Blues, Rock, Funk, Disco, Latin, D'n'B, Fusion, Jazz, Soul, Swing, Ska; In the beginning Purgeraj focused on music deriving from blues and rock'n'roll but very soon it become a club for all kinds of quality music, without strictly and blindly clinging to any specific type. Nevertheless, it particularly nurtures “traditional-style” LIVE music played by fine musicians, rather than electronic and computer music.
Alcohol
Beer, Wine, Liquor + Purgeraj has the largest offer of Croatian brandies and liqueurs (over 50 kinds), which simply must be tried! Happy Hour - Have in mind that every day of the week (Mon-Thu: 9-11PM; Fri-Sat : 9-10PM) we have CRAZY HAPPY HOUR – you get 2 drinks for the price of 1! It is impossible to find a better offer in town!!!
